Robertino Diodoro

Robertino Diodoro's passion for horses led him from Alberta to Arizona, with several stops along the way. A third generation horseman, Robertino took over his grandfather Jim Dorman's stable in 1995. Attributing his early success to his parents Tino and Linda, Diodoro Racing accumulated more than $1.7M in earnings, two training titles and 195 wins in the first 10 years of Robertino's career.

In 2005, the stable migrated south to Arizona. Since then, Robertino has been training at Turf Paradise, continually rising in the ranks each year. The spring of 2014 ended with a record 128 wins in the season, blitzing the previous mark by 24 victories. A banner year perpetuated in the summer at Canterbury Park (MN), where the winners' circle greeted six horses on closing day en route to the trainer championship.

Robertino's dream of a Southern California victory became reality (quite fittingly!) on Boxing Day in 2010, with nearly 70 wins since, including stakes wins in the Jim Kostoff at Fairplex and the E.B. Johnston at Los Alamitos. The stable's national rank by wins ascended from 36th in 2010 to 6th in 2014. Robertino credits his team and his parent's support for his continued success on and off the track.
